Korede K. Akinsete is a storyteller. She tells stories about people, purpose, products and policies. As a communications strategist, Korede supports tech startups, financial institutions, development organizations and policymakers in simplifying complex narratives and building a more sustainable society.

As a freelance writer, she covers arts, culture and identity across Africa and its diaspora.

Raised in Lagos and based in Brooklyn, Korede’s career path reflects her global mindset, curious spirit and purpose-oriented ethos. She has a B.A. in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia’s Department of Politics and an M.S. in Strategic Communications from Columbia University. Korede currently leads communications for Rise, the anchor program of a $1 Billion philanthropic commitment by Eric and Wendy Schmidt to find and support young global talent. Her writing has been featured in publications including ESSENCE, Blavity, OkayAfrica, The Republic Journal and AMAKA Studio.
